Day 01:  Arrival Bakkhali in the first half, Post lunch visit Crocodile Park and Mangrove forest; Sunset at Bakkhali sea beach and enjoy seafood on the coast.

Day 02:  After breakfast take an e-rickshaw or Car and visit Henry Island; there is a lovely beach on this island. From there visit the best beach in bakkhali-Kargil Sea Beach at Freasuregung for a bath in the bay of Bengal. 

Post lunch departure for Kolkata.

Bakkhali is a seaside tourist spot located in the South Twenty-four Parganas district of West Bengal.

Among one of the many deltaic islands spread across southern Bengal, Bakkhali is one of them. Please note that most of the islands are part of the Sunderbans, only a few are independent at the fringes. Some of these islands are joined by human-made flyovers narrow creeks. This small island joins out into the vast expanse of the Bay of Bengal.

The beach is shallow and generally waves not so strong. Around noontime, There is a sand strip of 100m which brings beauty to the beach. The beach is neat and clean and glassy with nice reflections.

The south-facing crescent-shaped beach of Bakkhali has the specialty to offer one of the rare views of both sunrise and sunset.

Bakkhali has an 8 km long perfect beach up to Frasergunj perfect for cycling, Driving, or a long walk with gently rolling waves.

Generally, Bakkhali has tourists during occasional Holidays.

 

Get in

By road:

After the Inauguration of the bridge over Hatania-Doania river at Namkhana, it has become effortless to reach Bakkhali. It is 122 km by road from central Kolkata via Diamond harbor kakdwip and Namkhana. Now with the help of the bridge, we don’t have to wait for a ferry. The road journey from Kolkata to Bakkhali takes about 3 hours. But there are few stretches in this route that are very crowded and may delay your trip, especially in the early morning and late evening.

By bus :

There are lots of Bus connections from Kolkata, and it takes around 4.30 hours to reach Bakkhali, 7 am, AND 8 am BUSES ARE FAMOUS, WHICH REACHES 11.30 am AND 1230 PM. The buses which come only leave bakkhali for the return journey after a gap of 45-60 minutes

By train :

You can reach Bakkhali by train. Regular trains for Namkhana ( nearest station) leave sealdah station on an hourly basis. for more details, please connect erail.in or www.priyatravels.in

 After reaching Namkhana station, you have to go to the bus stand to take the cheapest option of taking a bus for Bakkhali for a 45-minute bus ride. After getting there you can go to the hotel on foot as it is very near to all the leading hotels, and just a 5 min walk from the beach.

Get around

To get around battery-operated rickshaws are the best options that serve the purpose of sightseeing correctly. In case you are reaching Bakhali by Car you can arrange driver’s accommodation in your hotel dormitories on a chargeable basis. Most of the Hotels in Bakkhali has this facility.

You can do sightseeing on a motorized ferry from Frasergunj to Jambu Dwip(a small, uninhabited, and forested island out in the sea). It is an exciting experience. Currently, no one is allowed to go to the actual island, so the trip includes only sightseeing from the boat. The two-hour ride will give you an authentic adventure experience. It provides a real ADRENALINE RUSH.

 You can do other sightseeings also in these country boats. You can hire an e-rickshaw again to visit places it takes 4-5hours to complete.

Beach At Bakkhali

 A morning or evening walk from Bakkhali to Frasergunj is a pleasant experience. Still, unfortunately, it is broken midway, so it is impossible to go to frasergunj on a walk through the sea beach.

It is also advisable to visit Henry island and watchtower named after a European surveyor Henry in the 19th  century who saw this place and surveyed it. The surveyor even not dreamt in his darest dream that this place will have a human habitat in less than 100 years. 

Visit Henry island on a rickshaw will travel through the local villages and their surroundings. From the watchtower, you can view the expanses of the Mangroves on all three sides and vast sea beach, You can have a bird’s eye view of the sea beach and the sea.

The view will make you speechless.

Henry island should be a must-visit place for every visitor visiting Bakkhali. It is a very scenic and natural place to stay. As significantly fewer tourists visit Bakkhali, it is less polluted and is very near to Nature; it is very raw, beautiful, and natural. Although there is no beach on Henry Island, the coastline alone will make you go ‘wow’.

There is a temple known as Bishhalakshmi and is at the end of the Bakkhali main beach and is worth visit place. The temples have their own rules and don’t allow visitors inside the temple.

Bakkhali is a place where you can find world-famous red crabs in thousands. 

 

 Do

Bakkhali is a perfect rest and reoccupation place as there is not much activity to do except enjoying the beach and eating various kinds of seafood. Get the cheapest body massage at the beach though not perfect it’s ok to type.

You must visit Henry’s Island if you have a car, it’s around a 10mins ride from Bakkhali.  There are Three Guest House Named Mangrove, Sundari, and Bani. Bani has a watchtower on the roof, and it is very close to the sea beachMust go to the overlook to have a look at the beautiful surroundings. Take a walk through mangrove island on Henry island accessed by a bridge made of Bamboo. The above lodges are under the Fisheries Department of West Bengal. 

 The entire credit goes to the Fisheries Department of West Bengal to turn Henry island into a holiday destination and to generate sustainable tourism.

The fisheries department has also planted Trees such as Gora, kankru, palm, naturally growing Sundari, and Betal as a cash-generating machine for local farmers.

There are many canals in these dense forests. In and around many wild animals are expected as this is the only extension of Sunderban.

 Also, it would be best if you visit the Benfish harbor and Frasergunj Beach on the way to Henry’s Island.

  • Any cancellation between 30 Days – 15 Days prior to arrival date: 50% of tour fare charge
  • Any cancellation between 15 Days – 10 Days prior to arrival date: 75% of tour fare charge
  • Any cancellation less than 10 Days: 100% of tour fare charge.
