1.Samsing :

You have to approach Samsing through Chalsa. Chalsa is just 7kms from Murti and 20kms from Lataguri. From Chalsa, you will initially reach Matelli in 8kms. Samsing is another 9kms from that point. From Matelli, the course to Samsing is lovely and beautiful; going through miles of tea gardens, you will go through Indong Tea Garden, Chalsa Tea Garden and Samsing Tea Garden.

At last, the street prompts the Samsing Chowk, which is the fundamental centre of Samsing. Very few options for shops and restaurants are here. The backwoods check post is situated close to the chowk. Samsing is at the eastern edges of Neora Valley National Park. From the open eating porch of a café at Samsing chowk region, you get a great perspective on the public park. Samsing has several beautiful places one must pay a visit during the tour.Lali Guras is one of them.

It is a lovely picnic spot for its location. Lali Guras is a valley from where the Murti river is visible, with Lali Guras is a valley from where the Murti stream is evident with the bed of rocks and mountains transcending from its banks. The waterway Murti starts from the slopes of Neora Valley and goes through the fields of Samsing and goes as far as possible and meets Jaldhaka stream at Gorumara. The motorable street takes you aside from Lali Gura’s valley, where you can appreciate the fabulous view. One should visit in the morning to avoid the tourist rush.

There is a stunning viewpoint known as the Samsing View Point. You can see a considerable lot of wandering Murti stream streaming beneath through a valley with slopes ascending from its banks from a side of the road point. The lavish vegetation on the incline of the mountain makes them resemble a green rug. On the opposite roadside is a rambling tea garden brimming with green tea shrubs, an extraordinary sight.

A 6km uphill route from the forest check post leads to Mouchuki. Mouchuki has a forest department lodge managed by WBFDC. If you have booked in the Tourist lodge, only you can take your vehicle up to lodge else you have to visit the place by car taken by local transport association only.

Mochizuki is an ideal place to enjoy the forests and the views of the mountains around. Nature and quietness can not come any nearer that is the inclination you will indeed have when you visit this spot. There is a trek route from Mochizuki, which goes through Neora Valley National Park’s dense forests to Lava via the Lechela Pass. Though it is an easy trail as most of the trek is downhill, it may get very strenuous if you try from Mochizuki end. Permission is required from the Forest department if you want to trek on this trail.

You can find plenty of orange orchards as you walk through the villages in Samsing. November and December is the appropriate time to visit if you want to see the orchards full of oranges.

2.Suntalekhola:

The word ‘Suntale’ means orange, and ‘Khola’ means a stream of water since many orange orchards and River Murti are all around, thus the name.

Suntalekhola is a beautiful small hamlet 4kms north of Samsing chowk. Interestingly, here again comes the local transport association in the picture. This association won’t let you take your vehicle unless you have a booking at the WBFDC lodge at Suntalekhola. You need to take one of their cars and pay the price fixed by the association.

The forest lodge at Suntalekhola is with few cottages is trendy among tourists who want to spend a few days in complete silence in nature,

At Suntalekhola you can enjoy the forest and can watch different kinds of birds. Tourists who visit from Lataguri here for a day trip may visit the state of the art suspension bridge over river Suntalekhola. A tourist staying at WBFDC LODGE have to cross this bridge whenever they come out of Lodge.

Trespassing is not allowed at Lodge. One can get down to the river, which has less water except for the monsoon.

3.Rocky Island:

Rocky Island is a small town settlement 3kms from Samsing. The Murti stream courses through this spot. Here is where the stream descends the slopes and meets the fields. The site is excellent, and the town settlement has created along the waterway bank.

The height here is about 2,000ft. Since there are many rocks on the river and along the river Murti bank, a few of these are so big that enthusiast travellers have many opportunities to learn the basic of rock climbing. During weekends and holidays, lots of local people come here to enjoy a picnic. There are many minor tea points along the main road from Rocky island to Samsing.

From the rocky island area, many short trekking routes originate. If you love to hike or trek, you can go up to Fern point and see the lovely view of the Wide Himalayan range on one side and Doors plain on the other side. You can also see Jelepla Pass that connects Tibbet with India.

You can say in a nutshell that this natural beauty is a combination of River, Hills and Forest all around, which will mesmerize any one’s eye.
